Responsibilities:

  • Enable the Product team to rapidly design, build and test bold new data-derived digital products that delight users inside and outside Indigo
  • Work at the intersection of Engineering, Agronomy, Product and Data Science to implement end-to-end analysis including, but not limited to, collection of numerical, categorical and spatial data, quality control processes such as flagging problematic annotations and working with domain experts to correct these issues, data summarization, graphical and visual exploration of data, rapid implementation of analyses and graphics and releasing them in the final product
  • Extract quantitative insights from our commercial datasets

Competencies:

  • Loves building narratives from data and is comfortable with critical decision-making based on data
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages and UI tools for data exploration and visualization and fast prototyping for problem solving
  • Enjoys being hands-on in all aspects of end-to-end analysis (including data gathering, exploration, data cleaning and processing, analysis, engineering a platform, and communication via formal as well informal presentations)
  • Comfortable in a very fast-paced work environment
  • Always open to trying new and innovative approaches
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in industry required (preferably in a cross-functional field)
  • Technical skills:
    • Expertise in R, Python, and SQL
    • Fluent in creating graphical displays of data with BI/dashboarding tools and code
    • Experience with Javascript and creating visualizations in d3js required
    • Exposure to React.js is a plus
    • Familiarity with data infrastructure, querying, and data mining required; experience with spatial data preferred
  • Exposure to product teams and product processes preferred
  • Must be located near or be willing to relocate to Boston

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
