Role Purpose:

This position is responsible for guiding NewStore’s product team by collecting and synthesizing market information from internal and external stakeholders and industry experts, in order to develop product strategy and enable ongoing product-market fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global partnership with sales, customer success, professional services, and customer support teams to produce a clear view of the company’s ecommerce and consumer product requirements, priorities, projects, and roadmaps
  • Discover, prepare, and implement new product ideas and ensure that feedback and requests are integrated into the product
  • Assess the competitive landscape and evaluate market trends to formulate differentiated ecommerce & consumer product strategies
  • Partner with marketing and sales to formulate a go-to-market strategy, including software-as-a-service and direct sales business models and enterprise pricing strategies, and facilitate successful and impactful product launches with compelling messaging across north american and european markets
  • Assemble product strategy to guide agile software development process and team structures
  • Guide the product team in defining the vision and strategy of a complex product portfolio; Coach team members to ensure well-articulated and prioritized product requirements that accurately reflect customer value
  • Design complex qualitative and quantitative studies to collect market and user feedback, and synthesize data into product portfolio strategy
  • Create complex product UI/UX prototypes to conduct rapid usability testing and collect market input
  • Lead customer visits to understand needs of customers and end-users, evaluate resulting data, product and feature recommendations, and present these to executives, stakeholders, and end-users
  • Directly manage and lead global groups of industry experts, users, research participants as well as external design, research, and product development agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing
  • 4 years of experience in Product & Marketing R&D
  • Experience which may have been gained concurrently must have been in a Product Management leadership capacity with start-up venture backed companies, both with and without established product-market fit in the consumer space (for example: social networking applications) and include:
    • 4 years of experience leading Product & Marketing teams across continents, including product managers, designers, and researchers, in agile software development environments and encompassing lean and other process and development principles;
    • 3 years of experience concurrently guiding multiple software products across multiple platforms from conception through delivery and iteration in both consumer and enterprise markets;
    • 3 years of experience conducting user, market, and product research and using quantitative tools (analytics, multivariate testing, CRO, Tableau or SQL-based BI tools etc.) and qualitative tools (surveys, interviews, usability studies) for product optimization;
    • 3 years of experience designing user interfaces and product marketing materials, using Sketch and the Adobe Creative Suite

Qualified candidates considered for the position will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • In-depth understanding of modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development processes and team structures
  • Conversant with software engineering and UI/UX design principles.
  • Strong understanding of the enterprise direct sales and software-as-a-service business model
  • Strong understanding of the North American and European retail and ecommerce markets.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and analyzing detail requirements in JIRA.

Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically for up to 40%, including for extended periods of up to 4 weeks as may be required.
