The Director, Clinical Product/Cloud-based Portfolio Management of the Clinical Product Organization leads the clinical product team in managing the overall product initiative portfolio & process, portfolio-wide roadmap & outcomes and collaborates with the product teams, technology teams, and enterprise partners in planning and delivering product capabilities. This leader will be accountable for managing the overall product management stage-gate process including effective product initiative & backlog prioritization & roadmaps, product releases, and measurement of portfolio performance. In addition, this Director will lead the definition of the end-to-end product architecture that will serve various member cohorts as well as manage a team of portfolio project managers and technical product managers focused on various product initiatives moving through the product management process.

The Director, Clinical Product/Cloud-based Portfolio Management requires deep experience in agile product management and development to deliver cloud-based capabilities. This role will act as the Clinical Product leader and primary liaison with technology teams around the cloud platform definition, prioritization, prototyping, development and implementation.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Director, Clinical Product/Cloud-based Portfolio Management leads the clinical product team in managing the product portfolio across various key areas & process to deliver impactful capabilities for members & caregivers, care teams & providers. This includes continuously managing the overall product capability initiatives, backlog, roadmap and product architecture while collaborating with product managers, the technology & analytics teams and vendor partners in planning and delivering product capabilities. The new product capabilities will be part of a new enterprise clinical cloud-based platform.

  • Lead portfolio management of clinical product capabilities, initiatives and backlog including establishing initiative business cases, prioritization and roadmapping activities
  • Manage and refine the product management process including phases and gates in delivering product capabilities in a timely, effective manner
  • Establish and refine process for the product team in managing product features & requirements backlog, especially in the context of technology, cloud platform and analytics
  • Measure portfolio-based outcomes and report on cross-product roadmap, schedule and project status
  • Manage overall product capability architecture with product managers in concert with overall platform architecture managed by technology and analytics teams
  • Collaborate & coordinate with technology, analytics, product managers and vendor partners in managing the product architecture, roadmap, requirements analysis, development, user testing, and deployments
  • Manage and monitor product development initiatives and releases
  • Build and manage a team of portfolio project managers and technical product managers who will be managing the product management process and various product development initiatives in collaboration with product managers, business analysts, UX/UI and technology & analytics teams
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs of various users & stakeholders including member cohorts, care teams, caregivers, and providers in ensuring that the overall set of product capabilities deliver the desired user experience and outcomes for each user type
  • Accountability to be the primary conduit to the technology teams around the cloud platform definition, prioritization, prototyping, development and implementation
  • The overall cloud platform will be composed of presentation, workflow and analytics & data layers – the analytics & data layer will leverage Microsoft Azure

               

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in product management and agile product development
  • 5 or more years of experience in leading product teams in managing portfolios of products or capabilities
  • 5 or more years of healthcare-related product experience in the payer or provider space
  • Experience, training and certifications in Pragmatic Marketing, Scrum Product Owner, or SAFE
  • Experience in product and requirements management systems such as Aha and JIRA
  • Track record of driving outcomes across the product portfolio – customer experience, clinical and financial outcomes
  • Experience in cloud-based product and platform development
  • Must be passionate in contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences and achieving financial & clinical outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree – Business, IT, or Engineering
  • Experience in health insurance operations, member engagement, and healthcare delivery organizations
