HubSpot is looking for an exceptional Assistant Social Editor to bring technical and organization skills to our Social post-production team. A creative, highly organized, Internet-savvy badass to help create social videos for the HubSpot’s Buzz Group. They should be a multifunctional social media junkie who can create short social media videos for the web and other digital platforms as well as see ways to reenvision existing videos. They must be excited to learn the language of the digital world, business and pop culture - and geek out over the latest and best trends in social media; from content to technology to new platforms.

This position is a full-time role based in Cambridge, MA with a collaborative and supportive work environment overflowing with perks.

You will work with the social media team to complete videos, and iterate on existing videos to optimize them for our audiences. The ideal candidate thrive working independently while team focused. They should have a knack for helping others, and a desire to drive bottom-line growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Finishing of videos for traffic: including ad testing variations
  • Facilitate research, proofread, and implement appropriate edits for ongoing projects
  • Assist Editors and Producers in managing day-to-day details to streamline the post-production process and maximize productivity
  • Assist Editors in trafficking, assessing and editing incoming footage on large projects
  • Ensure that video/image/sound quality, size and placement meet requirements
  • Edit and proofread copy and layouts per supervisor guidelines
  • Ideate and create original content based on team goals

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in video
  • Proficient in Adobe After Effects (preferred) or Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Must be comfortable with most video codecs and formats
  • Must be comfortable working in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Strong passion for and experience with social media (Portfolio is a plus!)
  • Must be a tech, business & marketing geek! (Should know, love, and use different digital platforms). Must be a life-long learner.
  • Ability to work alone as well as in small teams - team oriented!
  • Deadline driven
  • A competitive drive -- you enjoy winning and really going for it
  • Be able to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment
  • Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same time
  • Ability to work independently and under close direction
  • Experienced in deadline driven environment and internet video
  • Experience behind a camera and knowledge of lighting and sound design a plus
  • Experience in VFX, motion graphics and design a plus
  • Proven ability to create compelling, shareable web video
  • Experience with social media / marketing is preferred (professional experience is a plus!)
  • Excellent presentation skills (both written and oral!)
  • A positive, curious, playful disposition (no haters)
