Small Group Segment Marketing Intern:
athenahealth is changing the way the healthcare industry works. athena employs around 100 interns in a variety of departments and office locations each summer. We don't believe in "busy work" around here, so our interns are given challenging projects that directly impact the business. Beyond their day-to-day work, interns also attend speaker seminar series’, social and networking events, and give end-of-summer “business impact presentations” to their department’s leadership team to showcase their work.

About the
Small Group Segment Marketing Team: The Small Group Marketing team generates demand among small practices with 1-6 physicians via integrated marketing campaigns, partner marketing, events and affiliate marketing programs. Our goal is to create interest and engagement resulting in a group practice wanting to take a meeting with athenahealth to learn more.
Responsibilities of the
Small Group Segment Marketing Intern:

  • Lead and engagement generation for the 160,000 accounts with 1-6 physicians
  • Research on our high priority small group accountsAssist with the execution of direct mail, email, digital media and events to the entirety of the Small Group universe.
  • Assist with email nurture streams to entire Small Group universe
  • Work cross functionally with web, media, and social/content teams to optimize content for the Small Group prospect base.
  • Create sales support documents for outbound marketing campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Must be extremely detail oriented
  • Should be a fast learner & hard worker
  • Should be very interested in Marketing
  • Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excited by a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Should be comfortable working on your own and in a team setting
  • Should have a positive attitude
