This internship will run through December 2020 with the flexibility to be part or full-time. Must be located within the East Coast time zone to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Design normalized database models and prepare clean data for data scientists and data visualization tools
• Ensure database optimization, integrity, and consistency
• Assist with schema design, code review, and SQL query tuning
• Providing assistance to others in topics related to data management
• Optimize SQL queries, troubleshoot performance issues, fine-tune databases, and create/maintain database
• Develop applications to enable scientists to make secure updates to our databases
• Become familiar with and contribute to our data infrastructure and processes

Qualifications

• Experience with Python and SQL (Experience with Python Dash applications preferred)
• Experience designing and creating normalized relational databases
• Experience with database tuning, database integration design and implementation, and management of database projects
• Familiarity with the command line / unix shells
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
• This candidate must be located within the East Coast time zone
