Fall Internship

The Intralinks Infrastructure Engineering and Support team is responsible for the underlying infrastructure of the customer facing production platform and supporting environments (Development, QC, Staging, etc.) across multiple datacenters. The team consists of System, Storage and Virtualization administrators. A core focus of this team is in the availability (uptime), sustainability and auditability of these various environments supporting the Intralinks SaaS offerings.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the development and management of platforms supporting Intralinks products. Focus areas include developing scripts and tools to automate tasks, provision and maintain new and existing infrastructure platforms on public and private clouds. Work closely with Sr. Engineers/Mentors to develop, adopt and implement best practices and standards pertaining to security, infrastructure, development and operations.

As an Intern on our team you will:

• You will be gaining instruction and working with within our Infrastructure Engineering Support group – with the opportunity to learn from and work with professionals who work with the following technologies on a daily basis:
  • Operating Systems: RedHat Linux, Solaris, Microsoft Windows
  • Virtualization Software: VMware ESX
  • Storage Systems: Enterprise class storage arrays and enterprise storage network technologies (SAN)
  • Software Development Platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, and Openstack
  • CI Tools: Jira, Jenkins, and Chef

• Work with senior-level Engineers/mentors on infrastructure projects both large and small, throughout the various phases of the project life cycle.
• Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures, configuration management and ongoing support processes to be used across all environments.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Recommends improvements to infrastructure and application configurations, processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of delivery teams and reduce technical debt.
• All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Relevant Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

• Excellent academic performance

• Experience with programming, scripting, automation and configuration tools

• Familiarity with AWS

• An interest in process and desire to automate manual activities

• An interest in operational metrics and continuous improvement

• Experience with software and hardware monitoring tools

• Classes related to testing and automation

• Experience with VMware or other virtual computing platforms
