Position Summary

GNS Healthcare is seeking a talented and highly motivated co-op to support the Information Technology team to assist in providing support to our distributed user base of about 80 people. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on working in a fast paced and exciting team environment. We are considering candidates with a degree in computer science or equivalent experience in a help desk role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware support for servers and client devices.
  • Provide technical support to users at all levels of the company.
  • Troubleshoot applications, OS, and network issues.
  • Install new/rebuild existing desktops and laptops.
  • Develop and maintain installation, configuration procedures, and other documentation.
  • Effectively communicating complex technical information in ways easily understood by the intended audience

Qualifications

  • Must be skilled Mac user (majority of employees use Mac for everyday
  • functions).
  • Windows 7-10, Microsoft Office (Mac and Windows) proficiency a must.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking; DHCP.
  • Office 365 experience is a plus
  • Broad problem solving experience with system software, network configurations, and standard software products across multiple platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Efficient planning and organizing skills with attention to detail.
  • Desire to build positive relationships and deliver a great customer experience
  • Experience with OpenVPN, Linux, iOS, Android OS helpful, but not required.
  • Ideal applicants are juniors or seniors in college OR in graduate school.
  • Interest in or familiarity with healthcare, biology, pharmaceutical, or biotech a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to perform well in a team.
  • Problem solver who takes initiative to drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude a must!
