This summer, we are looking for an enthusiastic medical illustrator intern for our Human Effectiveness division. We are seeking a student with a successful academic background and experienced artist to create assorted illustrations, models, and animations (both in 2D and 3D) for our various medical efforts, which will be used to represent injuries and wounds in training applications.

You will apply your expertise and skill set to support the development of medical training and real-time instructional applications for both military and civilian medical care providers. During your time at Charles River Analytics, you will work in small project-oriented groups of scientists and software engineers to build working prototypes of intelligent decision-support tools and training systems. As an example of the type of work you would do, one of our former Human Effectiveness efforts was the building of the Laparoscopic Surgery Training System (LASTS) to assess laparoscopic surgery skills.

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship
• Submission of a portfolio of work (images of 3 to 5 pieces) is a requirement
• Currently have or working toward a degree in Medical Illustration
• Experience with digital illustration and computer animation
• Familiarity with human anatomy and biological principles
• Demonstrated capability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment
