About the role:
Vecna Robotics seeks an experienced staff accountant to join our growing accounting team. He/she will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial reports, budgets and board presentations. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of a rapidly growing startup, helping to streamline and continuously improve processes and internal controls. This is a full-time, salaried position.
In this role, you will:
- Support payables and receivables processes, which includes vendor and customer management.
- Support accurate and timely month-end close (including analyzing and preparing journal entries to support prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, depreciation schedules etc.).
- Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for management, banks, investors and the Board.
- Perform COGS review including inventory tracking and reconciliation.
- Liaise and manage external advisors such as tax preparers and auditors to ensure all tax and financial compliance requirements are met.
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement in financial reporting and internal controls.
- Perform financial analysis and special projects as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred and CPA strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred. Public accounting or experience at a VC- or PE-backed company are big pluses.
- Strong ability to take initiative and find solutions. Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with the ability to grow and take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
