Job Summary:

We are a fast-paced, growing, dynamic online marketplace company looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. The position will report to the Controller and will support and work closely with Finance and other groups in all aspects of the day to day accounting, monthly closings, special projects and presentations for the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly revenue close process including reconciling, reviewing and preparing journal entries for various accounts including revenue, deferred revenue, bad debt reserve, etc.
  • Conduct internal audit process to assure that customers are invoiced according to contractual arrangements
  • Work with Product and Sales to assure that systems updates properly capture the revenue impact of new products, promotions, and revenue-share arrangements
  • Maintain detail schedules supporting journal entries and balances of key accounts such as prepaids, fixed assets, capitalized development costs, intangibles, and accruals
  • Preparation of financial statements & supporting schedules
  • Financial statement variance analysis
  • Other account analysis and reconciliation as needed
  • Prepare or assist with statutory and compliance-related filings
  • Projects such as:
  • Year-end audit & tax return support
  • General business metrics & intelligence
  • Work with Controller and VP of Finance to improve and document policies, procedures & processes as needed
  • Process improvements & application roll-outs

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Combination of public accounting/private industry experience would be ideal, particularly with high-growth technology companies
  • Work experience relevant to the above responsibilities
  • Exceptional skillset with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with MS GP2015 (including Management Reporter) a huge plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interaction/communication, including with various levels of management
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, strong work ethic and ownership of tasks required
