GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Project Accountant will work alongside the Controller, Assistant Controller, General Managers, and Finance Associates. The Finance team is a relatively small team that affords the candidate the opportunity for participation in project work as well as collaboration and cooperation among team members.
This position, while focusing on traditional core responsibilities including month end close, account reconciliations and actual vs budget analysis, has a strong focus on fixed assets and partnering with our construction and launch groups to provide ongoing information, support and analysis to help ensure successful and on budget capital project launches and will be a key resource in supporting the Company’s future expansion efforts. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Month-end close for assigned properties, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and various analytics
Accounting for property-related transactions including leases (property and equipment), customer deposits, and tenant improvements
Budgeting and forecasting (cash and income statement) relating to various properties
Preparing and analyzing financial statements
Accounting and tracking of fixed assets, including maintenance of fixed asset records, depreciation calculations, and all reporting
Tracking fixed asset additions against budget and forecasting related timing of cash requirements
Implementing fixed asset software and required compilation/reconciliation of data
Other projects as required
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
A minimum of four years of corporate accounting experience, CPA preferred but not required
Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with QuickBooks
Interest in a long-term role
Consolidation and multi-company experience a plus
System implementation experience a plus
