SmarterTravel is looking for a self-starting, detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join a growing Financial, Planning & Analysis team with an initial focus on supporting revenue forecasting for several operational business units. This role requires an independent, proactive and organized candidate who will adapt well in a dynamic environment. In short, we want someone who is curious, thinks differently, can try new angles and overcome obstacles and embraces data in the decision making process.

What You Will Do:

  • As the a member of the financial planning and analysis team you will build strong business partner relationships with key leaders responsible for designing, building, and maintaining SmarterTravel’s website portfolio.
  • Prioritize and implement actions against key dates and deliverables ensuring compliance with tasks, deadlines and accuracy of deliverables from business partners.
  • Build detailed assumption driven financial models. Work with business leaders and the financial planning and analysis team to support models and set targets accordingly.
  • Provide guidance on the annual budgeting process and serve as a point person in communicating with the business.
  • Resolve issues and/or inefficiencies in process by probing and looking beyond symptoms to determine underlying causes to problems and issues.
  • Ability to develop relationships across the organization, influence other teams and design collaborations to drive results, improve process efficiency and accuracy of plan.
  • Prepare and manage monthly P&L reviews and forecast updates.
  • Develop analytics to determine if business team is meeting objectives.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and analytics as needed by business leader to present to Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders, including the CFO.
  • Work with other finance and business team members to prepare ad hoc analytics and reports.
  • Prepare financial analysis and support on M&A activity as needed.

What You Will Bring To The Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting or forecasting, or in a related finance function
  • Strong relationship building experience with ability to guide and influence key business unit owners
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and its data and analysis tools
  • Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Essbase skills a plus
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated passion for using data to drive decision making
  • Extremely organized with the ability to contribute to multiple projects within tight time lines
  • A team player, able to step in and help out other members of the team when needed
  • An inquisitive nature, someone who wants to explore variances and understand the root cause
  • An individual who is able to work effectively in a complex, changing environment and to adapt to change while focusing on key goals and objectives
  • Strong presentation skills
