The Sales Financial Analyst will join the Financial Planning & Analysis team at Carbon Black, providing financial analysis and business partnership to the Sales organization.  They will use their analytical and interpersonal skills to drive decision making and support to our growing SaaS business.

This role requires a highly motivated individual who will use their experience and education to build and maintain business metrics, processes and partnerships in a fast growing, enterprise software company.  You will leverage technology to transform data into actionable and easy to consume reporting. You will develop dashboards and reports for trending and analysis of various business objectives. You will build financial and business metric models from scratch.  You must be able to work in a team environment and also possess a strong independent work ethic, have excellent Excel skills, be a critical thinker, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Effectively work with business partners and budget owners to create and execute financial plans.

  • Provide analysis and reporting relative to budget affordability and variance.

  • Drive reporting automation and manage the key sets of dashboards and reporting packages on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Build, distribute, and maintain key business metrics.

  • Analyze current and historical data and create forecasts for future periods.

  • Detailed analytical modeling including summarizing large amount of data to determine business trends and projected productivity.

  • Identify trends, develop insights, and present this information to the management team.

  • Support business partners with workforce management, including the systems management of requisitions.

  • Ensure best practices over data quality and data management are implemented and followed.

  • Establish and refine effective processes and tools to better support organizational financial management. Identify trends that may signal risks and opportunities and provide relevant recommendations.

  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, define better processes, work with minimal daily direction, and prioritize time to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS in finance, accounting, economics or similar academic study

  • 5 or more years of solid experience performing reporting and quantitative analysis, ideally with a software or SaaS company

  • Highly analytical with strong data modeling skills

  • Advanced Excel capabilities

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint

  • Experience with Adaptive Insights or other similar budgeting applications

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and professionalism required to interact with colleagues and senior management

  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful in obtaining information when it is not readily available

  • Ability to identify process improvements and solve complex issues in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent time management, organization, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
