As the Director of Accounting, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the team. You will also manage operational functions such as Accounts Payable and Payroll/Equity. You will collaborate with other teams including FP&A, Inventory Operations, FinTech, IT & Business Intelligence. The role reports to the Vice President of Finance and will provide guidance to the rest of the team to help institute controls needed in a growing technology company and also implement processes and necessary systems to scale the financial operations.
About this roll* (responsibilities):
- Manage an effective monthly close and timely reporting process
- Oversee the audit and manage relationships with the auditors
- Manage tax and treasury functions including banking relationships and compliance
- Protect the assets of the company by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
- Provide guidance on complex accounting matters including ASC 606, ASC 860, lease accounting, FinTech, and equity accounting
- Manage special projects as needed which includes M&A, Sales & Use tax and others
- Manage a team of 14 and help scale the team with automation, process improvements and recruiting top talent
Do you have the right ingredients*? (requirements):
- Degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Public accounting experience ideally with technology company clients in FinTech or SaaS based revenue
- Mix of public and industry experience, a plus
- Proven ability to research and implement changes in accounting policy at a company-wide-level
- Develop relationships and collaborate with other teams as applicable to implement controls
