What Success Looks Like:
In 3 months:
Learn Business; Establish Relationships; Own Proper Revenue Recognition (606); insure ongoing GAAP compliance with various monthly reporting requirements with Banks (non-compliance has critical implications to the ongoing business concern and operations); Evaluate NetSuite structure and begin to make changes to allow improved insight and reporting to managers; Assist with KPI measures and reporting
In 6 months:
Roll out improvements in reporting; Master the business model; Assist with liquidity; Prepare for Audit planning with BDO; Assist with Board reporting and Budget; Improve controls and processes to support scale, value, valuation
12 months:
Clean audit opinion from BDO and 4 other audits; Continuously improve controls and processes to support scale, value, valuation; ongoing tax and regulatory compliance
What you will do
- As Controller oversee and direct all accounting activities
- Billing and revenue accounting; own 606 implementation and rev recognition
- Cash management and collections
- General accounting and financial reporting; consolidations; Point person for audits
- Payroll
- Income, state and local taxes, including sales and use tax compliance
- Develop, modify, and execute company policies and internal controls.
- Collaborate with peers throughout the organization.
- Manage, mentor, and lead a team of four; roll up sleeves as a team member and contributor because that’s how we roll and that’s how you feel successful.
- Broad exposure to and collaboration with members of the senior leadership team; provide direction to senior managers and sales colleagues on finance/ accounting / revenue recognition matters.
- Collaborate in and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and budget to actual reporting with an eye on future organizational growth and expansion and reporting on various SaaS metrics.
- Assist with the preparation of Board reporting to VC and investor stakeholders.

What you need for this position
- 10 -15 years of related work experience with increasing responsibility.
- Prior controllership experience.
- Software company experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting technical matters, including revenue recognition and 606.
- Strong managerial and team leadership capabilities in a fast growth environment; coupled with a roll up sleeves and pitch in approach.
- Prior experience leading financial system implementations and enhancement solutions targeted at automating and streamlining Finance processes in a scaling business environment.
- BSBA in accounting.

- CPA/ MBA
- National CPA firm audit experience.
- Strong Netsuite, Adaptive Planning, SalesForce experience to: increase efficiencies and add new modules/ features/ enhancements/ functionality.
- Later stage VC / growth equity / PE portfolio company experience.
