WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Upserve is seeking a Controller to help us scale and optimize our financial and accounting functions. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, cash management, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, and Revenue Recognition
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Develop and maintain a weekly, monthly and quarterly cash forecasting process
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support month-end and year-end financial close process
• Lead the Company’s annual audit process, including all audit schedules, samples and responses to the Company’s outside auditor
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Supervise and mentor Finance team members

WHO YOU ARE

• Proven record of success as a Financial controller
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Advanced degree in Accounting
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions, the month-end/year end close process, and with creating financial
• Experience administering a first rate ERP like Netsuite, Intacct, or SAP and exposure to Salesforce
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with board members as well as internal and external partners
• A passion for mentoring and leading high performing teams
• Experience with acquisition/purchase accounting a plus
