As Controller, you will establish effective working relationships with both the front-office trading team and other functional groups within Circle. You take a self-starter approach to the business’ requirements.
What you'll work on
- Oversee accounting and reconciliation of all trading activities including gain/loss on activity, mark to market and assets held at month end
- Monitor risk and exposure of positions held across multiple parties in accordance with the treasury policy
- Participate in treasury and trading business development initiatives across Circle functional groups, business segments and geographies
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures for the treasury and trading business
- Analysis and commentary on trading P&L and key balance sheet positions
- Collaboration with trading team and settlements team to resolve operational and booking issues
- Monitor of FX, digital currency exposure and counter-party risk of the group to analyze and report deviations
- Support treasury and trading in daily settlement of transactions
- Assist in the design of improved processes and new infrastructure development
- Discussion and review of trading P&L and performance with management
What you’ll bring to Circle
- Working knowledge of financial markets and products, including spot FX, forwards and futures, swaps, options and other derivatives
- Working knowledge of digital currency market and ecosystem
- Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting
- 8+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including 3+ years of P&L, risk or trade support experience
- Strong Excel and/or SQL skills with proven ability to work across multiple systems
- Motivation to improve processes and build new infrastructure for automation
- Some project management experience working with engineering teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and exposure to trading personnel
- Ability to consistently meet or beat deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
