Commissions Analyst

We are looking for a Commission Analyst that will work cross-functionally with various teams to administer the day-to-day affairs of Toast’s sales compensation which include plan distribution, monthly earnings calculations, as well as accrual calculations and account reconciliations. This is a high visibility role that will serve as a key liaison between sales and finance. You will gain invaluable experience assisting with the ongoing development of the sales compensation structure and processes. The successful candidate will be a highly-organized, self-motivated individual who has a proven capability of prioritizing multiple responsibilities while meeting strict goals and deadlines. You must have strong communication and analytical skills, be team oriented, and have confidence in collaborating with colleagues at all organizational levels.
Requirements:
- Partner with Sales leadership to continue to develop and fine tune commission plans by providing strategic financial insights and recommendations
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all commission plans across the sales organization and be able to effectively communicate calculations and rationale
- Calculate and validate monthly variable earnings accurately and on time according to current compensation plans
- Maintain commission tools and reference data, including employee and commission plan information to accurately pay variable commission; regularly update the sales organization personnel with any hires/transfers/terminations and comp plan changes
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of FP&A experience, preferably with sales and commission experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Effective communication skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
- Highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
- Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
- Working knowledge of GAAP
Bonus Skills
- SaaS or FinTech industry experience
- Strong systems skills with experience in cloud-based ERP/Financial System with preference towards NetSuite, Adaptive Planning and Salesforce
- Knowledge of SQL, Python or R
