What you'll Do:

AP Responsibilities

  • Assist the Accounting Team in all activities in the AP function.
  • Ensure timely payment of all vendor bills and maintain accurate records and internal control reports.
  • Ensure that all invoices are properly approved and coded in the general ledger, per internal control requirements
  • Manage/track prepaid expenses and ensure they are properly expensed.
  • Oversee the monthly accruals process in preparation for management review. This requires direct coordination with key budget owners.
  • Examine the AP Aging Detail and make sure bills are paid according to terms while optimizing payment methods and discounts. 
  • Correspond with external vendors as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise the AP/AR staff by outlining goals and expectations, providing guidance and oversight on a daily basis.
  • Maintain vendor records including W-9 forms and issuing 1099s.
  • Work closely with the Accounting Team and Controller on process improvement, maintain accounting policies and institute strong controls.

AR Responsibilities

  • Create customer invoices and manage billing processes.
  • Reconcile, analyze and present AR aging and aged balances with detailed explanations on delayed collection on a monthly basis to management.
  • Maintain records of invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee the credit and accounts receivable activities to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including invoicing, collections, claim resolution and cash application. 
  • Oversee the creditworthiness and risk of existing and potential customers.
  • Monitors credit limits and ensures appropriate credit limits. 
  • Proposes improvements to the AR and AP processes and systems
  • Complete additional miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned

What you have:

  • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing an AP/AR department
  • GL accounting experience (journal entries, reconciliations, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and regulatory standards, including revenue recognition
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including superior spreadsheet skills using Excel
  • ERP Experience – preference in Sage Intacct
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy with ability to meet critical deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven comfort with high speed and high growth. We are not frenetic, but we are very swift.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000
