We are looking for a high-achieving and talented accounting professional who has grown into increasing responsibilities in both public and private accounting. Successful candidates will possess a combination of strong accounting knowledge with an ability to dive into unknown problems and figure out creative solutions. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Finance and will come with a broad range of responsibilities on a small team. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves" attitude, be able to multi-task and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a global startup through building controls, processes, and systems to enable DataRobot’s rapid growth
  • Lead the monthly close process and implement systems and processes that will increase the accuracy of financials while scaling for evolving accounting needs
  • Become our NetSuite expert and the go-to person for implementing new procedures and processes within the system
  • Participate and research technical accounting topics, including revenue recognition (ASC-606), stock based compensation, and equity accounting
  • Lead the international consolidation and elimination process, ensuring that intercompany journal entries are booked properly and that DataRobot has the most efficient processes in place to automatically produce consolidated financials
  • Manage audits and proactively identify risk areas where you can prepare memos and other materials that auditors will want to see
  • Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed
  • Although this is an accounting position, we are looking for someone who can also think strategically and get involved in FP&A type work to guide DataRobot through smart financial decisions
  • Work collaboratively across teams, providing actionable insights to help drive optimal business decisions
  • Ad hoc projects as required, such as data migration, new system implementation, or analyses for the CFO

Requirements:

  • CPA certification is strongly preferred for this position with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting experience at both a public accounting firm and in a startup type environment is strongly preferred (5-10 years experience ideal)
  • Preferrably, candidates also have experience with SaaS or other subscription type models
  • Superb attention to detail and an ability to identify gaps in data/processes and communicate effectively through a customer service mindset
  • Ability to identify and fix issues wherever they arise. Successful candidates are usually proactive, self-motivated, and analytical
  • Strong excel experience is preferred including the ability to find and analyze information in large tables using functions like vlookup, index, match, sumproduct, etc
  • Genuine willingness and temperament to work for a high energy and rapidly growing start-up

System Skills: NetSuite, Concur, Expensify, Salesforce, Avalara, Microsoft Office, and Google docs
