The Accountant will primarily be responsible for assisting with the identification and management of company expenditures.  You will report to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities 
  • Obtain approvals prior to issuing payments
  • Accurately code and enter expenses into Quickbooks
  • Verify all receipts have been obtained, if not request required receipts for expense incurred via Divvy, the corporate credit card program
  • Identify prepaids and manage expense schedule
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Research vendor statements, phone calls and discrepancies
  • Maintain filing system and online backup or invoices, approvals and payments
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Support the month end close process
  • Assist in providing audit support
  • Assist in the 1099 process
  • Complete ad-hoc/special projects as required

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in accounting related roles: start-up and/or insurance industry experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel is required
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate cross-functionally
  • Ability to interact with and build productive working relationships across all organizational levels and departments
  • Self-driven, self-starter, goal-oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced, ever changing environment, curious and wants to learn
  • A willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done

Nice to Have

  • Experience with QBO, Bill.com, Looker, NetSuite, Divvy
