UI-UX Design Consultant (10 to 15 hrs/week)
If you are interested in an opportunity to help influence the look and design of a rapidly growing SaaS platform, Thought Industries is currently looking for a creative and self-sufficient individual who can bring fresh ideas and user design insights to our rapidly expanding product team. We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and strong communicator who can support the project-based UI and UX design needs of our Product team. As our design consultant, you will work closely with our product management team. You will play a critical role in bringing product design concepts to life with both your knowledge in user experience and creative talents with UX and graphic design. You will need to be a strong communicator and able to handle multiple design projects at once with efficiency and effectiveness. Above all, you will need to be comfortable working on tight project turnarounds with the expectation of maintaining a workload of 10-15 hours of design work per week while on retainer. 
You love a challenge and enjoy working hard on designing something meaningful, complex and beautiful. You take initiative in providing recommendations and insights on how to make an impact on the aesthetic and user flow of the product. You are confident in your abilities and can pick up the complex nuances and style guidelines of a platform quickly.
Responsibilities:

• Provide realistic and detailed designs for product related projects and platform enhancements 
• Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements
• Develop designs that enhance and improve the overall usability of the platform 
• Ensure designs adhere to platform-style guidelines 
• Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements 
• Deliver design projects by dates determined between consultant and product team 
• Can make themselves available for weekly meetings to connect on current and upcoming product design projects with the product team

Experience:

• Ideally, 3+ years’ of professional experience as a UI-UX Designer or similar role 
• Prior experience as an external design consultant
• Excellent interpersonal and communication 
• Experience leveraging collaborative design and project management tools such as Invision, Figma, and Airtable
• Detailed oriented with a demonstrated ability to closely follow project write-ups and requirements while still leveraging creative license 
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a reliable resource by being able to meet clearly established deadlines 
• Some knowledge of Usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction
