Rue Gilt Groupe is investing substantial resources to build our product, engineering and design team up to revolutionize our product with data science and new technologies as more people shop online than ever before. We need an outstanding Senior Product designer who will take our customer experience to the next level. This person will work remotely with dedicated teams of engineers, creatives and product managers to design and execute new features and optimized improvements of our mobile first ecommerce platform.

As a Senior Product Designer at RGG,  you will play a key role in developing customer experiences through your work in Figma, creating, testing and revising our products to be best in class in ecommerce fashion. You will be the advocate and hands on leader for conducting user research to inform design decisions and measure the usability and effectiveness of each iteration. This role is perfect for you if you are passionate about developing and iterating on great customer experiences, appreciate working in remote, collaborative environments, and have an understanding of mobile first development. You should have a keen interest and experience in the competitive landscape of ecommerce and a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered research, discovery processes and design systems is a must.

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers, end-users, and stakeholders to deeply understand the problems a new feature, A/B test or site update are intended to solve
• Act as the customer advocate, creating innovative, empathic design solutions that support user needs and build engagement and trust in our products
• Plan and conduct user research, synthesize with our customer insights team, and execute  qualitative interviews and user tests to uncover customer pain points
• Work iteratively with agile development teams to deliver a user experience that’s within scope, technically feasible and satisfies our project goals

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

• 5+ years of Product Design, UX design or related experience for mobile app, mobile web and desktop experiences leveraging design systems
• 2-3 years Experience in conducting customer research, including contextual inquiry and usability testing with tools like Usertesting, Validately and others
• Outstanding portfolio of personas, customer journeys, prototypes, user flows, site maps or related UX artifacts
• Examples of 2-3 shipped products or product features with the KPI success metrics and results for each project.
• Familiarity with design systems either as a contributor or architect
• Proficiency in Figma or similar tools for the creation of high fidelity designs and testable prototypes
• Demonstrated collaboration in discovery workshops on problems for users and business
• Proven ability to turn quantitative and qualitative data discoveries into effective solutions
• Experience with data science, conversion tactics or other substantive  product features specific to ecommerce products
• Strong presentation skills of research and design approach a must
