Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
- Design thoughtful, compelling, user centered and business goal centered features that are easily translated into multiple brand applications.
- Responsible for leading projects from ideation to completion including the setup of timelines, tasks, expectations across cross-functional teams, and delivering high quality work.
- Maintain the design process and design operations (e.g. tools, setup, file storage, etc) and ensuring their teams and co-workers have what they need to be successful.
- Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive design system.
- Help grow and develop a design culture.
- Lead a team of designers, setting clear goals, managing workload and allocating designers accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met and setting team members up for overall success.
- Facilitate critiques and design reviews as needed; provides useful feedback.
- Work closely with the Technical Brand Management team to improve process and ensure client success.
- Create job postings, screen applicants and interview candidates.
- Provide regular feedback to direct reports and understand each designer's strengths and development opportunities; balances autonomy with oversight for each individual.
You Should Have
- 5–8 years experience in Design
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 1-2 years leading/mentoring designers
- Advanced use of design tools, including; Sketch, the Adobe Suite, InVision, Zeplin, animation/interactions skills are a plus.
- Able to design for multiple platforms including; iOS, Android and Web
- Ability to edit and write HTML and CSS
- A mature, evolutionary perspective on technology, product, and design practices
- Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process
- Excellent communication and data visualization skills. You can bring stakeholders on your design journey and support your decisions with focus and brevity
- An acute self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals
- A passion for mentoring, providing direction, and constructive critiques to designers
