The Director, Creative Strategy is tasked with the development of breakthrough creative ideas for clients. This is a client-facing role that works collaboratively across multiple accounts in lockstep with senior team leads. Contributing to both existing client work as well as new business opportunities the Director, Creative Strategy is responsible for overseeing discovery and background research, crafting creative and strategic briefs, facilitating group ideation sessions and guiding freelance creatives as they deliver amazing work. At the end of the day, we need you to help our clients do things that are outside of their comfort zone and lead our freelance community to produce some award-winning content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and elevate the current creative products Skyword delivers for clients
  • Uncover key insights that can be used to develop strategies and solutions that meet and exceed client objectives
  • Develop briefs that excite clients and provide Skyword’s extensive freelancer community with clear direction while soliciting their own creative thoughts, styles and experiences
  • Act as consultant to account teams to assure appropriate creative strategies are being considered
  • Lead creative workshops with Skyword clients to help push them to create visually engaging and entertaining stories
  • Be able to address and solve complicated creative challenges and quality issues – includes challenges resulting from budget constraints
  • Create presentation materials to communicate recommendations to clients and consistently help improve their content strategies 
  • Maintain a positive attitude when working with internal and external teams – be solution-oriented, and supportive in finding solutions to unexpected challenges
  • Help Skyword succeed through bold and innovative ideas
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Remain up-to-date with the latest digital trends and technology where groundbreaking stories can be told

Requirements

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Ability to facilitate a creative strategy conversation and extract meaningful insights 
  • Experience in a creative agency or working in partnership with creative agencies
  • A proven portfolio of creative strategies that demonstrates, originality, innovation and problem-solving
  • Understanding of creative development and design process – specifically as it relates to videos, graphics and other enhanced content formats
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence creative consideration at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proactive, independent, tenacious, strong work ethic
  • Ability to adapt on-the-fly
