The CAD Designer will play a critical role in helping us create and maintain our project construction documentation and designs. Starting with system concepts all the way through detailed designs, coordinating with internal system teams as well as external architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical teams including client personnel. Experience in Revit is required for developing design deliverables. Project sizes will vary and consist solely of the layout and installation of Alerts systems for a variety of clients in a variety of locations. Installations may include retrofit of existing, additions to or completely new facilities designed around the Alert system.

What Will You Do?

  • Developing system layouts in Autodesk Revit for new or upgraded installations of Alert Innovation's automation system within client facilities.
  • Writing narratives that describe portions of the systems that may include user requirements specifications and sequences of operation.
  • Developing parametric Revit families based on Alerts various system components.
  • Working with other disciplines, departments and teams to ensure systems are fully defined, understood and coordinated.
  • Creating system design drawings in Autodesk Revit from concept through detailed design.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for site specific configurations.
  • Following projects after construction documents are issued and reviewing submittals, providing design support, and making occasional field visits to verify construction of scope is proceeding per the intent of the design

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Autodesk Revit to generate design and construction documents including layouts, material takeoff, schedules.
  • Knowledge of construction field, reading blueprints and architectural drawings preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to solve problems, communicate effectively to all key personnel, manage time efficiently and produce correct design within budgeted time.
  • Someone who can travel within the USA and internationally
  • Someone with the willingness to learn and share knowledge with other members of the design team in order to continually raise the level of expertise and maintain awareness with team members and Alert customers.
  • Working knowledge of relevant domestic and international design standards and regulations preferred
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is a must.
