Associate UX Researcher
TripAdvisor seeks a researcher to work directly on projects that impact the company’s key Hotels B2C initiatives. Research projects range from exploratory to evaluative, from surveys to usability testing.
For this position, we are looking for researchers with 0-2 years of research experience. Ideal candidates will have experience with qualitative research methods such as interviewing, and have an understanding of survey design and basic survey analysis. The Associate UX Researcher will partner with senior researchers to conduct hotels research.
Responsibilities include: partnering with Hotels product managers, designers, and researchers to conduct research studies (primarily usability studies, surveys, and click-tests/other fast forms of user feedback), analyzing data, and reporting/ sharing findings in clear and compelling ways.
The right candidate will be: experienced in qualitative methods such as in-depth interviewing and usability testing, familiar with designing surveys and basic survey analysis, passionate about research and travel, comfortable in a fast moving organization, and excited to collaborate.
Specific responsibilities include:
Support research conducted by Product Managers - Reviewing studies, consulting on analysis, etc.
In partnership with Senior Researchers, Design and conduct UX qualitative studies (unmoderated and moderated usability studies, click-tests etc.), analyze data, and report findings
In partnership with Senior Researchers, Design and field surveys, analyze data, and report findings
Maintain ongoing research initiatives including research tool management and administrative research support
Communicate research findings internally in clear and compelling ways
Work cross-functionally with design, product marketing, and product management
Hiring requirements:
Minimum BA/BS degree in psychology, communication, statistics or other related field
Advanced degree in HCI or other behavioral or social sciences a plus
0-2 years of professional research experience
Experience with qualitative research methods
Understanding of quantitative research methods (e.g. surveying) and basic statistics
Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to present clear results in both excel and PowerPoint outputs
Ability to ask, and answer, meaningful and impactful questions
Clear communicator
