At Wistia, telling meaningful stories with video is core to everything we do. We use video to tell the story of our products, to support, educate and inspire our customers, to build our brand, and to communicate internally. Our video content is at the center of our mission to help small- and medium-sized businesses grow and become more human brands through their video marketing efforts. The super-dynamic, super-creative video team at Wistia is growing, and we’re looking for a new producer! We need a video creator who is passionate about all aspects of video production—from brainstorming ideas and writing scripts, to directing and collaborating on set and overseeing post-production.
In this role, you'll own the video production process end-to-end—you'll be responsible for producing engaging, creative videos while meeting the needs and requirements of key stakeholders across the business. You’ll work closely with other content creators and copywriters on the Content & Creative team to create a wide range of video content: in-app tutorials, product launches, landing page videos, customer testimonials, videos for social media, blog content, and more!
Key Responsibilities
- Write engaging, delightful video scripts. As a video producer at Wistia, you’ll be responsible for meeting with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs and then scripting engaging, delightful videos that clearly communicate to—and resonate with—our audiences.
- Produce videos from end to end. From pre-production through post-production, you'll bring videos to life, managing production schedules and other logistics, directing videos on shoot days, and working with editors and freelance creators as a collaborator during editing, color grading, audio mixing and VFX.
- Collaborate with teams across the business. You'll be responsible for understanding our business goals and working cross-functionally to achieve them from a video perspective. You’ll hold creative briefings and provide status updates on various media assets, ensuring smooth, on-time delivery.
- Manage freelancer relationships. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering some of Wistia’s highest impact video content with the best production value—at scale. You’ll need to identify when specialized freelance help is needed, recruit freelance talent, and manage those relationships as needed on a per-project basis.
- Deliver creative, on-brand assets. Work with the Content & Creative team to maintain the quality—and push the boundaries—of the Wistia brand with video across all of our content channels.
Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of NLE platforms such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut X, and After Effects
- Experience with and comfort directing folks on camera
- Experience clearly articulating visual concepts and communicating with a wide range of internal/external stakeholders
- Deep understanding of the creative process, including how to take inputs from stakeholders and transform them into easy-to-digest content properties, managing and incorporating feedback, and knowing when to advocate for ideas or change course as priorities change
