Demiurge Studios is seeking an experienced Director of Production to grow and manage our production group. You’ll lead a team of talented and motivated development directors and producers, helping them drive their projects to success. You will grow the production team and their capabilities and get your hands dirty producing awesome games!

Note: Although we are all working remotely at this time due to COVID-19, this position will require you to work onsite when the rest of the team returns to our offices in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Production department, including setting a department vision, strategy, and operational model
  • Recruit, interview, and hire production staff
  • Support the staff with career management and coaching
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing among production staff
  • Build, maintain, and validate realistic production schedules
  • Develop and maintain indicators that track project quality, delivery, financials, and risks.
  • Oversee development process improvement for the studio.
  • Manage the development budgets working with the product teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of production or project management experience; shipped multiple applications
  • 5+ years experience in game development; production credit on multiple shipped titles for console, mobile, or PC
  • Solid organizational skills and highly efficient time management. Strong capability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality products under constrained budget, time & resources
  • Demonstrated ability to build successful, collaborative teams
  • Able to facilitate brainstorming and mediate decision making for a team of enthusiastic developers
  • Experience working in a leadership role through the different stages of the game product life cycle (e.g. prototype, pre-production, production, launch, and live operations)
  • Experience running teams under a variety of agile and fixed-time development processes
  • Experience collaborating with external business partners, both clients and vendors
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Passion for playing and making games
