Demiurge Studios is searching for an experienced artist with a huge streak of producer. The art department at Demiurge is growing! Primary Responsibilities

  • Determine our studio's art needs, and hire amazing talents to develop our art department
  • Mentor artists to ensure team cohesion and help develop their short & long-term career goals
  • Manage offsite contractors and outsource vendors
  • Work with Project Management to help create and maintain clear and consistent schedules
  • Communicate with other departments to understand needs, and guide artists to solutions
  • Contribute to our projects through insightful feedback and pieces of production art. You still get to make stuff!

Qualifications

  • Excellent personal, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience hiring artists and managing their careers over several years
  • Leadership history on prior projects - Lead, or art director, or department head, or artist-founder of a company.... etc
  • Broad understanding of the many requirements and steps involved in delivering high quality game art
  • 5+ years game industry employment
  • Must be eligible to work in United States

Preference to Applicants with:

  • Skill with industry tools: Photoshop, Max/Maya, etc
  • Experience working in game engines: Unreal, Unity, or equivalent
  • Portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates games experience
  • Traditional illustration/fine arts training
  • BFA (or higher)
  • Demonstrated passion for games of all sorts
  • Outside interests!
