Design & develop packaging of mechanical components for commercial hybrid electric vehicles including:
Custom frame cross members.
Mounting brackets for traction motors, inverters, battery packs & auxiliary components (pumps, reservoirs, radiators and microcomputers).
Develop & test routing for cooling hoses, high voltage, and low voltage wiring.
Develop, prototype & integrate custom drive shaft components (spline shafts, u-joints, tube shafts, slip yokes, bearings, boots).
Support development of custom core components (batteries/inverters/motors/chargers etc.).
Extract CAD of full vehicle models from OEMs to design/package added hybrid components.
Support sustaining engineering by assessing model year variations and updating components/BOMs.
Perform integration of mechanical systems into prototype vehicles and subsequent road test driving to verify designs for production.
