Systems Safety Engineering within the Systems Engineering Group are responsible for the execution of systems safety assessments for our programs. Core responsibilities include contributing to the design and development of aerospace vehicles and processes from a safety perspective, documenting various system safety analyses, building and maintaining Aurora’s Hazard Database, and assisting with safety-related requirements management. Safety Engineers are expected to lead those activities, taking ownership of the development of artifacts such as Functional Hazard Assessments, FMEAs/FMECAs, PSSAs, SSAs, and other items throughout a program’s lifetime, working closely with other discipline experts to populate those items and drive design changes.

Defines and develops test plans for EV Wireless Power Hardware and Software Components. Single/Three Phase PFC Wallboxes, Inverters, Rectifiers, Ground and Vehicle Resonators, and WiTricity’s Tunable Impedance Matching Network (TMN). Customer GUIs. Wireless Power Transfer, Object Detection, and Position Detection Systems. Executes Tests. Functional, Performance, Regression Testing on Hardware/Firmware. Compliance / Interop Testing against SAE and other Wireless Power Standards. Mechanical Stress/Vibration, Environmental, Fault/Error Handling. Collaborates cross functionally to ensure testing requirements are defined. Specifies, designs, and develops test infrastructure including automated test systems. Supports troubleshooting of technical problems; works collaboratively with engineers and team members to resolve outstanding issues. Ensures defect data base is maintained; generates reports for team members to review. Collaborates with team members on continuous improvement initiatives.

Support existing embedded software designs and provide hands-on support of system test and verification. Work collaboratively with firmware team members and team members of other disciplines to test and debug functionalities and implementations of the operational system.
