This is your opportunity to join a fast-moving start up and lead a team that's building the next generation of insurance telematics products. In this role, you will bring together your knowledge of auto insurance (product, pricing, claims) and combine that with cutting-edge mobile data and machine learning technology to solve some of the most challenging industry problems. Product Managers are responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy, acquisitions, product design and overall growth/profit goals as well as collaborating with sales, product and engineering for delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Build the business case. Create a robust ground-up assessment of driver/carrier needs, target addressable markets, pricing, positioning, business/technology trends and competitor capabilities. Identify game changing value propositions.
  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy. Build the growth/profit plan for the product. Establish partnerships with complementary service providers. Evaluate acquisitions. Collaborate with sales team to support key accounts and new business development (US/Europe). Present at trade shows.
  • Lead product design/build in partnership with Engineering. Design the end-to-end experience. Create the feature/function roadmap, user experience, business requirements. Establish the prioritization of development of efforts across customer enhancements and R&D. Responsible for product launches.
  • Be the external facing expert. Meet regularly with customers to understand product performance, gain insights to needed enhancements. Present at trade shows. Be the authority on problems and solutions in the market.
  • Deliver results. Achieve product revenue and profitability targets. Grow our carrier and driver base. Analyze operating performance to understand challenges and opportunities. Communicate performance relative to plans.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in product management, with strong experience in core product management, including customer analysis, market segmentation, KPI management, operational management and roadmap development.
  • Experience with Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures highly preferred.
  • Current/recent automotive insurance product experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with agile development processes and monthly or weekly product release cycles
  • Experience with SQL, web analytics, A/B testing, and Multivariate Testing. Background in working with large data sets.
  • A strong track record of delivering high quality technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities and structures shift rapidly;
  • Ability to lead, drive consensus and deliver in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to coordinate projects through partners and vendors; driving relationships and solutions
  • Focused, metrics driven, no barriers, entrepreneurial, startup attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or Master's in Technology preferred
