Profile Summary: 
Voya is hiring a VP, Strategic Relationship Manager to expand Select Advantage distribution through national, regional, and independent broker-dealers, reporting to the Head of Wealth Management Business Development. You’ll own senior home-office relationships, secure new platform approvals, enable partner wholesalers, and convert access into advisor adoption and net new flows. Ideal candidates bring deep intermediary distribution experience, a track record of winning BD shelf space and advisor engagement, influencing and mobilizing internal and external teams.  

What you’ll do (the work) 
•    Broker-dealer coverage & growth – Build senior-level relationships with national, regional, and independent broker-dealers to secure platform approvals and expand advisor access to Select Advantage and Select Advantage Advisory products. 
•    Wholesaling enablement – Design 'sell-with' motions and activation plans to equip partner wholesalers and Voya distribution teams. 
•    Pipeline & agreements – Drive the end-to-end pipeline for new/expanded selling agreements and platform placements; coordinate internal stakeholders from initial interest through contracting and launch. 
•    Advisor activation – Convert platform wins into advisor adoption via targeted campaigns, segmented events, and content. 
•    Governance & compliance – Operate within Voya’s Written Supervisory Procedures (WSP) and FINRA/SEC standards. 
•    Insights to action – Bring back voice-of-partner/voice-of-advisor insights to influence product roadmaps and marketing content. 
•    Operate the business – Maintain accurate BD account plans, pipeline, and forecasting; deliver quarterly business reviews. 

What you’ll bring (the essentials) 
•    Industry expertise in intermediary distribution/wholesaling, broker-dealer ecosystems, and IRA platforms. 
•    Commercial track record in winning platform approvals and driving sustained flows/AUA through third-party distribution. 
•    Compliance with fluency FINRA/SEC guidelines for wholesaling communications and supervision. 
•    Influence & executive presence to engage senior BD stakeholders and internal leaders. 
•    Operating discipline using CRM/OKRs to prioritize, forecast, and report. 
•    Education & registrations: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. FINRA registrations are required (e.g., Series 7 and Series 63/65 or 66). 

Work style & travel 
On-site role with regular travel to broker-dealer home offices, regional events, conferences, and advisor meetings; frequency varies by territory and calendar. Follow Voya’s T&E policy and preferred suppliers. 

How we’ll measure success 
•    Access: # of new/expanded selling agreements and platform/product placements. 
•    Activation: Advisor enablement touchpoints, event ROI, wholesaler adoption. 
•    Outcomes: Net new flows/AUM into Select Advantage; persistency; advisor/product penetration by BD. 
•    Health: Compliance quality, forecast accuracy, and stakeholder NPS.

Voya is building a comprehensive wealth platform across advisor-led and digital distribution. Select Advantage is a key retail IRA solution within that strategy and is distributed through both Voya Financial Advisors and third-party advisor (wholesale) channels. Your mandate: open, deepen, and scale broker-dealer relationships so more advisors can access Select Advantage and more investors benefit from our simple, low-friction IRA platform. 

About Select Advantage 
Voya Select Advantage (and Select Advantage Advisory) is a mutual-fund custodial IRA platform with broad fund access and no front-end loads, no back-end fees, no transaction charges, no deferred sales charges, and no transfer-out fees. Voya Institutional Trust Company serves as custodian; distribution occurs through Voya Financial Partners, LLC (member SIPC) and other broker-dealers with wholesaling/selling agreements. 

Context at Voya 
Strategic Relationship Management (SRM) is an established, cross-enterprise motion at Voya designed to strengthen priority partnerships and align go-to-market efforts. You’ll plug into that model to accelerate Select Advantage distribution. 
 

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
