Basis Technology is the leader in text analytics software components used in search, security, and big data applications around the world. We have identified a significant opportunity to bring our deep expertise and market credibility to bear on a new set of business problems. We are assembling a new team to develop and validate the product opportunity. This position starts as a full time contractor and has the potential to convert to full time employee as we achieve market validation.

The Role
Lead the user experience design for our new product line. Reporting to the VP of Product, work directly with customers, Basis executives, engineers, and product managers to craft a new enterprise web application through an iterative product development process.

Responsibilities

• Understand User Goals, define personas, document workflows
• Study best in class designs for complex, enterprise tasks
• Create interaction design plans and wireframes for our sales team, new users, and core personas
• Generate visible deliverables and get feedback fast! Create clickable experiences to lead conversations and validate concepts with target users and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in leading large scale UX projects on enterprise business applications
• A killer portfolio with experience that matches the needs of our project
• Extensive experience collaborating with engineers, implementing designs and creating test-ready prototypes in an agile development environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through the design process.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles
• Familiarity with, and some experience in some or all of the following: Foundation, Bootstrap, GIT, Javascript (jQuery, AngularJS), SASS
• Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills
