Here’s a summary of the role:

Diligent is seeking a Strategic Alliances & Partnerships Director to define and lead our global strategy for driving revenue and customer value through a portfolio of strategic partners. In this role, you will own partner-sourced and influenced pipeline at scale, establish clear targets, and maintain strong executive alignment with key partners. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to shape partner programs, standardize motions, and remove systemic blockers. The ideal candidate combines deep B2B SaaS partnership experience with strong commercial acumen, executive presence, and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing partner teams.

This role operates on a hybrid model, with an expectation of 50% office-based work; however, remote working arrangements may also be considered. This opportunity is open to candidates based in the United States only.

Regrettably we are unable to provide visa sponsorship, so you must be eligible to work in the US.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
  • Define and own the overall global partnerships strategy, ensuring tight alignment with company growth, product, and go-to-market priorities
  • Hold ultimate accountability for partner-sourced and influenced revenue, setting targets, overseeing forecasts, and reviewing performance with executive leadership
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with top partners, driving multi-year joint plans, strategic initiatives, and complex negotiations
  • Lead cross-functional alignment and execution across Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to standardize partner motions and remove systemic blockers
  • Shape and evolve partner programs, operating models, and governance, using data and market insights to prioritize investments and refine the partner portfolio
  • Provide vision, leadership, and coaching to the Partnerships organization (Specialists, Managers), building high-performing teams and scalable playbooks

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
  • 10+ years’ experience in Enterprise SaaS in partnerships, channels or alliances,  including significant ownership of partner-driven revenue targets
  • Strong experience in GRC environments, with a proven track record working with major Global System Integrators and Advisory firms, as well as smaller, specialist system integrators
  • Proven track record building and executing global partner strategy, including portfolio design, multi-year joint business planning, and complex deal/partner negotiations
  • Advanced commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to use data and market insights to prioritize investments and optimize partner programs
  • Deep understanding of products, integrations, and ecosystems, and the ability to align partner roadmaps with company strategy, product direction, and customer needs

Behavioural Competencies:
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, successfully leading and developing partner teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills, able to influence C-level leaders internally and at partner organizations
  • Strong relationship-building capability, with a proven ability to develop and maintain trusted senior-level partner and customer relationships
  • Ability to operate with urgency in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments while balancing multiple strategic priorities
  • Strong commercial mindset with a focus on driving growth, expansion, and long-term partner value creation

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
