As a Sr Consultant, Data Solution Analyst leading the Data Strategy and Design function of Partner Activation you will be expected to be the expert on taking business outcomes and translating them to actionable data solution requirements and design.  Helping our IT and Business partners understand how Trusted Data, and quality data pipelines help them meet their business goals and objectives.  

A successful candidate should possess the following skills and/or experience:  

  • Successful history of end-to-end data solution delivery, with first-hand experience scoping, sizing, and leading complex data initiatives, accountable for milestones, SLAs, and delivery outcomes. 

  • Practitioner-level experience with data tools and technologies (e.g. data querying, data analysis & profiling, data wrangling, data integration, and/or data visualization) is highly desired.  Intermediate or higher skill developing custom SQL queries is required.   

  • Successful history of coaching and uplifting both technical and soft skills of assigned team. Measures and manages the quality and timeliness of work of direct reports.  

  • Effective cross-functional collaboration translates business objectives into technical designs, negotiates trade-offs, and manages matrixed dependencies with product, analytics, architecture, and platform teams. 

  • Proven stakeholder communication skills to clearly convey status, risks, architecture decisions, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences; influences outcomes without formal authority. 

  • Identification of innovation opportunities involving application of Data Ops and Generative AI capabilities for both business enablement and IT Ops use cases.  

  • Critical thinking, excellent communication, detail-oriented, team-first attitude, creative and adaptive.  

  • Insurance and Financial domain experience is a plus.  

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using Lean, Kanban and/or Scrum practices.

As a Data Solution Analyst, you’ll translate functional data and analytic requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the respective business or technology request or leveraging a variety of approved technologies. The technologies include (but are not limited to) Paxata, Tableau, Micro strategy, Business Objects, R, or other reporting and visualization solutions being considered for operationalization. You’ll also have the opportunity to guide others to leverage self-service techniques for business reporting and analytics.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for gathering reporting and analytic requirements from business and technology requestors to generate visualization or analysis.

  • Drives data requirements, reporting and practices for a department or line of business.

  • Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Creates and executes complex visualization techniques.

  • Uses multifaceted visualization and analysis techniques to present findings of data exploration exercises to key stakeholders.

  • Responsible for mapping the flow of data and the business processes and/or technical interfaces which would be created or impacted and recommends solutions/adaptations.

  • Collaborates with others to implement standardized data reporting, analytics, and visualization tools.

  • Recommends and leads change in data analytics, methodologies and tools.

  • Leads the profiling, mapping, and modeling tools for multiple areas.

  • Partners with others on projects requiring data visualization.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP of above Data Leader.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education:  Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.  Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.

License/Certification/Designation:  Certifications are not required but encouraged.

Experience:  Eight or more years of relevant experience with data management/ organization/ analytics or practices. Experience in engaging business leaders, data architects and external consultants to identify and fill gaps in analytics environment. Wide experience in using data modeling and data science tools like R, Python and SPSS .  Experience with self-service analytic techniques. Experience in application of data acquisition and data wrangling. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Data application and practices knowledge. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships, facilitate meetings and influence others.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
