dataxu is looking for a Java Developer to join our highly skilled streaming engineering team in all phases of the Agile development process from design to deployment of our big data processing engine. 

On the Job

• Build and extend our cloud-based reporting platform from data acquisition to presentation on giant scale (TB to PB) data.
• Work with product management and architecture to go from requirements, to design, to automation, to testing, to deployment.
• Contribute to all parts of the product development cycle - some days writing architecture designs, some days testing, some days handling production.
• Support and enhance released products
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews
• Work in a strongly collaborative team - be both a mentor and a mentee.

About You

• Can program in several of these languages: Scala, Python, Ruby, SQL
• Good understanding of cloud technologies, MPP databases (e.g. Redshift or Vertica), EMR (Spark), and ETL
• Familiarity with UNIX environments (Linux)
• Willing to learn new technologies and languages in a fast evolving technical ecosystem
• Good communication skills 

Bonus Points

• Good knowledge of AWS, lambda functions
• Good knowledge of git, jenkins
• Experience with Agile design and release methodologies
• Past BI experience
