Position Summary:

This individual will be selling athenahealth’s cloud based solutions to physician organizations with between 1-6 doctors by conducting needs analysis and addressing critical business issues. Our sales executive will not only be building strong relationships with each potential client, but will also be creating and maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospects. He or she will have an assigned quota and will be responsible for a comprehensive, full-cycle, sales process including:  creative lead generation, discovery, driving solution demonstrations, negotiations, and closings.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
80% [Primary Function]

  •  Manage a full-cycle sale process, including prospecting, selling, and closing
  •  Maintain a strong sales pipeline using Salesforce
  •  Conduct product demonstrations via WebEx to prospects
  •  Quickly but thoroughly learn athena’s product lines, the industry, and the industry challenges 

20%

  •  Produce accurate forecasts to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual quota
  •  Leverage internal resources to generate new leads: channel partners, marketing, inside sales
  •  Efficiently leverage the online contracting process to close deals
  •  Attend industry events and dinner seminars

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of corporate, client-facing work experience
  • 1-3 years of sales experience (may include inside sales, telesales, or quota)
  • Working knowledge of CRM, preferably salesforce
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (both in person and on the phone)
