Position Summary

You will be working within our Infrastructure-as-a-Service team and be responsible for supporting, designing, and implementing tools that allow athenahealth to efficiently scale and deliver compute, network, and storage services to our stakeholders. Experience writing, testing, evangelizing, and deploying Infrastructure-as-Code is critical to success in this role. You will be expected to maintain a strong understanding of underlying IT infrastructure and leverage Agile principles to iteratively improve Infrastructure-as-a-Service public and private cloud service capabilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing software services which support Infrastructure-as-Code principles

• Designing, implementing, and integrating APIs between various systems and services

• Developing software-based, automated solutions to core business processes

• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with robust data points and testing metrics geared toward improving delivery results

• Leveraging Agile principles to meet the fast paced demands of the athenahealth business

• Employing creativity and critical thinking to design elegant solutions to complex problems

• Developing, evangelizing, teaching, and promoting best practices and architecture policies

• Providing support for key components of the IT infrastructure

Skills and Environment

• 6+ years of professional experience developing software solutions

• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience

• Expertise in leveraging Open Source Software technologies to solve business problems

• Expertise in monitoring and scaling environments

• Expertise in public/private cloud IT infrastructure

• Expertise in building and consuming APIs

• Experience working in an Agile environment
