The Opportunity:

Our health is incredibly precious and people in need of health care are often at their most fragile. Yet the function and experience of healthcare continues to fall far behind the rapidly innovating services we receive in other more frivolous parts of our lives. Maybe you’ve recently had a personal interaction with the archaic health system or you’re just tired of designing disposable experiences, or perhaps you’ve been passionate about fixing health for a while now. Whatever the reason, if you’re a talented, innovative and data scientist, motivated to make a difference in health, then we want to talk to you. Help us break through all the red tape and push our industry forward, to transform everyone’s experience of a visit to the doctor, a trip to the emergency room, or a lifetime with a chronic illness.

Over the last decade, athenahealth has grown a mature team of over 80 user experience researchers & designers. The digital products we build to enable athenahealth services are best-in-class, but we know there is still much room for improvement. In 2017 our company is pushing to make evidence-based experience design a central competency and competitive lever. Core to that mission is the establishment of a UX measurement & insights team that will guide product design & development from conception to in-market iteration. Importantly, we are seeking to build a team of data scientists that provide quantified measurement of UX impact and opportunities, and scalable support to the Experience Design group and our multi-disciplinary product development teams.
