We are seeking a Senior SAP Technical Consultant with deep expertise in ABAP development and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to design, build, and optimize integrations between AppZen and our customers’ SAP environments (ECC and S/4HANA).
This role focuses on hands-on technical development, system extensions, and cloud-based innovation on SAP BTP. You’ll work closely with customer IT teams, AppZen engineers, and solution architects to create scalable, secure, and high-performance integration frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design, development, and deployment of custom ABAP solutions supporting integrations between SAP and AppZen’s AI platform.
- Build and maintain interfaces, APIs, and extensions using ABAP Objects, OData, CDS Views, and RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
- Develop and deploy BTP-based applications leveraging SAP Cloud SDK, CAP (Cloud Application Programming), and Cloud Foundry services.
- Create and maintain integration flows using SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) and ensure data consistency between SAP and external systems.
- Optimize performance of existing custom code through tuning, debugging, and code remediation for ECC and S/4HANA.
- Design and implement event-driven architecture for data exchange between SAP and AppZen systems via APIs or webhooks.
- Maintain and enforce technical documentation, coding standards, and reusable frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with AppZen’s product and engineering teams to influence integration design and technical roadmap.
- Conduct technical code reviews, mentor junior developers, and establish ABAP and BTP best practices within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of SAP technical development experience, including hands-on work with ABAP, ABAP OO, CDS Views, and OData Services.
- Experience designing and developing custom programs, enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, SmartForms, and Fiori/UI5 extensions.
- Strong expertise in SAP CPI/PI/PO, API Management, and integration architecture between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- 2+ years of experience with SAP BTP, including CAP, Cloud SDK, or Extension Suite components.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA technical migration, custom code adaptation, and extensibility framework.
- Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills — able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- SAP BTP or ABAP certifications.
- Hands-on experience with SAP RAP model, Fiori/UI5, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with AI or SaaS integration platforms.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and cloud-native development.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices within SAP environments.
