Job Summary

AI2IO is seeking a Senior QA Specialist to build and operationalize our software quality assurance program from the ground up. You’ll establish the standards, tools, and workflows that ensure every AI2IO product—from Power Platform solutions to Revit engineering tools—meets rigorous quality benchmarks. As our first QA hire, you’ll work hands-on within projects while shaping how quality is embedded across all development pods. This is a foundational role for someone who loves creating structure, driving improvement, and championing excellence in every release.

Essential Functions

  • Design and implement AI2IO’s software quality assurance framework, covering manual, automated, functional, and performance testing.
  • Configure and optimize Azure DevOps (ADO) for QA processes, including test plans, work item tracking, and reporting dashboards.
  • Collaborate with developers, delivery leads, and analysts to embed QA early in the design and development lifecycle.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, validation, and regression testing during initial phases of the QA program.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test case libraries, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Establish release readiness criteria, defect triage procedures, and metrics for quality tracking and reporting.
  • Recommend and pilot test automation tools and frameworks for future scaling.
  • Mentor development pods in QA best practices and support the recruitment and onboarding of future QA/Test Engineers.
  • Continuously assess and improve QA workflows to reduce defects, rework, and time-to-release.
  • Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Proven experience building or maturing QA programs and frameworks in multi-team environments.
  • Deep familiarity with Azure DevOps Test Plans, work item management, and CI/CD integration.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress) and API testing (e.g., Postman).
  • Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern SDLC practices.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Builder mindset — thrives in unstructured environments where new systems and standards are being created.
  • Collaborative communicator — enjoys partnering across teams and mentoring others.
  • Practical perfectionist — driven to improve quality without slowing innovation.
  • Systems thinker — sees patterns and opportunities for efficiency and consistency.
  • Aligned with AI2IO’s ethos: shared success, real results, and continuous innovation.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and/or Revit-based engineering tools.
  • Experience with performance/load testing and defect analytics.
  • ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

What Success Looks Like

  • A repeatable QA workflow is established and integrated with Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Standardized test documentation and release criteria are in place across all pods.
  • Early testing catches and prevents defects before release.
  • Quality metrics and dashboards are live and visible to product and development teams.
  • Developers view QA as a partner in performance, not a post-production checkpoint.
  • A plan is ready for scaling the QA function and hiring supporting testers.

Travel / Relocation Requirements

  • Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.

Education/Experience

  • 7+ years in software quality assurance or testing roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or specialist capacity.
  • Background in software development or scripting for test automation.
