Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Story Programmer to join our office in Boston to work on Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. In this role, you will help the Orion Team develop Story and Quest tools to enable designers to deliver on the vision of the game.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with quest and cinematic designers to understand their needs and ensure the tools meet the creative and technical goals.
  • Build and maintain story related plugins.
  • Ensure tools run efficiently without sacrificing performance, maintaining smooth workflows for the design team.
  • Write high-quality code that is optimised, bug-free, and aligned with project goals.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure the tools contribute effectively to all game systems and components.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of professional experience as a programmer within the games industry.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming and knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation in technology.
  • Ability to interpret the needs of less technical people and to communicate workflow with them.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience working on Story or Quest tools.
  • Experience working with Common UI in Unreal.

The studio is part of the larger CD PROJEKT S.A. Capital Group, which also includes Spokko, a mobile-focused developer responsible for The Witcher: Monster Slayer, and The Molasses Flood, a development studio in Boston, which is currently working on a game based on one of CD PROJEKT RED’s IPs.
