About the job: EnerNOC’s product marketing team is responsible for commercializing new products, creating demand through pricing, packaging, and positioning, and being both customer and product evangelists. As part of the Product organization, product marketing is well-regarded and viewed as central to shaping the product vision. EnerNOC’s product marketers are a high performing group, extremely collaborative, and instinctive change-makers. 

It’s a Boston-based role at EnerNOC’s corporate headquarters in the Innovation District. Here’s what you’ll be expected to take on:

  • Sales and marketing enablement: Create sales tools that support our sales process, our customers’ buying process, and demand generation – and train go-to-market teams on these new tools. 
  • Customer and market intelligence: Develop expertise in customer segmentation, buying process, market trends, and win-loss analysis to inform both go-to-market activities and product strategy.
  • Positioning and messaging: craft positioning and messaging that clearly communicates and differentiates the value of our products by tying customer key business issues to EnerNOC solution benefits. Bring message to market through thought leadership and compelling content.
  • Product evangelism: From internal meetings to content development to demos, your product expertise and love for storytelling demonstrates the value we deliver in a compelling way, in any and every setting. 
  • New market development: Lead product marketing activities for new market entry. Use market sizing, segmentation, and macro trends data to make recommendations around pricing strategies, go-to-market initiatives, and product priorities.
  • Sales Support: Provide demos, build business cases, and develop solutions with our sales team and directly with customers. This role is customer facing and the experience you gain supporting our sales organization will provide you the credibility and experience to improve our marketing and product development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA nice to have
  • Strong marketer – understands fundamentals of messaging and positioning from a tactical and strategic perspective. That likely means you have at least 3 years of experience in B2B product management, product marketing, or strategic marketing, 5-7 years preferred
  • Dynamic relationship builder – be the go-to product and customer expert with sales, marketing, product management, professional services, operations – experience working with global B2B sales and marketing organizations at an enterprise software company is a plus
  • Customer-centric – you love being in front of customers and discovering new ways to meet their needs with our solutions – in order to both drive sales and inform our marketing and product strategy
  • Polished presenter –to support roll out of high visibility initiatives, in cross-functional team training
  • Consummate team player first and cross-functional leader second. You go out of your way to ensure exceptional communications between yourself and your colleagues, build consensus, and lead by influence – and most importantly, execute
  • Ability to work in a fast paced exciting environment
  • Creativity and a sense of humor
