Billtrust is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing company! This role is focused on the execution and management of domestic and international tax compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to global regulations. The Tax Manager will partner closely with external CPA firms and internal business leads, to ensure tax compliance keeps pace with our dynamic SaaS environment. This is an individual contributor role requiring supervision and scope management of external CPA firms, as well as leadership of global, cross-functional projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee US Domestic (Federal and State) and International Income Tax compliance
- Supervise the completion of indirect tax filings inclusive of US Sales Tax and VAT tax returns
- Oversee cross-border intercompany tax compliance, including compliance to and maintenance of transfer price agreements and intercompany agreements
- Ensure tax compliance keeps pace with the business with respect to relevant jurisdictions, legal entity structures, product or commercial motion changes
- Manage external tax CPA performance inclusive of scope management, fees and quality of work. Conduction operational reviews to maintain a high standard of service
- Research tax regulations and respond to customer/vendor inquiries on tax matters
- Review and assist in the preparation of the US Tax Provision as well as reconciliations between Book and Tax
- Implement changes in processes, systems, policies and internal controls
- Provide financial analysis that supports a timely financial close and forecast relating to tax expense and cash taxes
- Regularly collaborate with cross-functional partners across in Legal, FP&A, Accounting, Business Systems, People and Sales pertaining to tax planning initiatives and compliance
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or related field
- CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in tax functions, ideally in a SaaS environment
- Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting and cross-border tax implications
- 2 years tax experience required from an international Public Accounting firm (Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, BDO, RSM, Grant Thornton)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Project management skills
The expected base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $170,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
