What we need


We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to drive our reporting product and data-driven decision making as we scale our product to help tens of thousands more students and partner with dozens more alternative education partners, financing hundreds of millions of dollars of loans and other financial products. The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role in shaping our data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is exceptionally strong at SQL and Python, and has experience working with dbt or equivalent for data transformation. 


At Stride we run a DevOps culture where the engineers and analysts have full ownership of the code they write & the infrastructure on which it runs. Candidates should be enthused about data management best-practices and well-versed in storytelling with data. We are looking for someone excited to learn many facets of our business, from top-of-funnel applicant reporting to loan repayment optimization recommendations, and achieving tremendous personal growth with us along the way! 

What you'll do

  • Deeply understand of our finance data models, flow of funds, disbursements, etc. and working with other departments to build deep domain expertise and unlock those departments data
  • Utilize SQL to build, test, and maintain data models and transformations within the data warehouse, ensuring that models are optimized for performance and are clearly documented for consumption by others
  • Develop and maintain internal and customer-facing dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics
  • Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions across the organization; this will require deep partnership with many subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and data engineers to implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data technologies and methodologies
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on best practices in data analysis, ETL, and data modeling

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a equivalent bootcamp or up skilling program 
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, ETL, and data modeling in a production environment
  • Expertise in SQL and proficiency with relational databases (ie PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and pipeline development
  • Experience with data visualization tools (ie Tableau, Power BI, Preset) to create user-friendly reports and dashboards, ensuring that visualizations are clear, actionable and well-documented
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders both synchronously and asynchronously
