ABOUT THE ROLE  
As a senior member of the commercial contracts team for Trustly, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, analyzing, and updating agreements with a focus on agreements to support a wide range of Trustly initiatives, including the development of new payments products, expanding partnerships with financial institutions, and the sale of Trustly products to Merchants and partners, including channel partners, e-commerce, and billing merchants, vendors, and marketing partners . This role will work cross-functionally with go-to-market, banking partnerships, compliance, and product functions at Trustly to support the sustainable growth of a hyper-scale business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Reviewing, drafting, revising, and interpreting a broad range of both inbound and outbound commercial agreements with merchants, partners, financial institutions, and vendors;
  • Proactively managing and leading negotiations of agreement terms and conditions;
  • Analyzing Trustly’s agreements and developing strategy to implement necessary updates;
  • Working with the go-to-market teams, strategic partners, and management to implement creative solutions to novel challenges;
  • Advise management and internal stakeholders. regarding agreements, terms and conditions and other items;
  • Maintaining and updating Trustly’s standard form of agreements to streamline the contracting process, mitigate risk for Trustly, and align with Trustly’s policies and applicable law; 
  • Maintaining and updating Trustly’s  “playbook” to guide negotiations and approvals of commercial agreements; 
  • Protecting Trustly’s interests by mitigating business and financial risk in commercial agreements;
  • Leading or being a key participant in projects to improve internal processes, support new product initiatives, and strengthen partnerships with financial institutions to build for scale;
  • Eager to jump in whenever help is needed and build cross-functional relationships;
  • Assist with due diligence requests for our merchants, partnerships, and financial institutions as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of experience drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of commercial deals, including customer agreements, vendor agreements, bank partnership agreements, data protection agreements (DPAs)
  • Experience with privacy, data security, NACHA Rules and Card Network Rules is a plus
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and organizational skills
  • Eager to learn about new and emerging technologies
  • Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced legal issues
  • JD degree required
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, follow through and meet deadlines
