Who is Perceptive Automata?

Understanding how to effectively and efficiently engage with humans remains the single biggest challenge for widespread deployment of autonomous robotic systems. At Perceptive Automata, we solve this challenge. We are a young (5 years old) start-up who is providing robots the ability to understand people. We are ready to engage the marketplace to share our solutions and are looking for our Business Development leader. 

What will you do?

As the Vice President for Business Development, you will lead our global effort through expert discovery and exploration. Partnering with our Product team, you will establish Perceptive Automata’s SOMAI™ suite as the enabling technology that will allow robots to perceive human interaction correctly and achieve human-like social interaction and engagement with humans.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage and direct the execution of the PA business development strategy
• Partner with our product team to establish and lead engagement for the Company’s Design Partner Program
• Proactively evaluate, develop and close partners and customers
• Drive both strategic alignment at the highest levels of target organizations as well as tactical execution to grow and maximize enterprise value
• Maintain in-depth market knowledge of and relationships with strategic partnering targets
• Establish input and feedback channels to understand and align with the needs and priorities of internal stakeholders and company leadership teams
• Develop both competitive and marketplace analysis to inform strategic decisioning and direction for the company
• Serve as the Voice of the Customer by keeping internal stakeholders up to date on the needs and business challenges of prospective customers
• Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of company marketing strategies
• Develop and present executive presentations
• Develop, present, and manage detailed project/engagement plans for target opportunities
• Provide detailed updates on business development activities and progress to company leadership and Board of Directors

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred in a scientific discipline with MBA or PhD  highly desirable
• 12+ years of experience with a minimum 5 years in business development roles
• A robust track record of successfully sourced and executed value-creating transactions in an early-stage software environment including beta program development
• A demonstrated ability of  understanding and adapting to evolving business dynamics
• Combined scientific and business acumen to formulate business development strategies and operational plans that advance the interests of the Company
• A strong understanding of the business value and impact of solutions which emanate from a machine learning and artificial intelligence foundation
• Clear aptitude for leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing business search and prospect evaluation function
• Demonstrated history of innovative, “out of the box” thinking and natural penchant for identifying “non-obvious” opportunities that expand/diversify business dynamics
• Strong, clearly demonstrated strategic agility and flexibility
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills

The position is located in Boston, MA, but can be REMOTE
